August and September

Truly , they are a blurr.....The little ones came back from spending time in Oregon with Donovans family at the first of August, and they started school on the 14th, Bailey and Dylon my neice and her husband had their baby Preslie M Anderson on August 10th. We took Paige and Kaden to see a Nickleback concert on the 24th, (that was a blast!)
We have spent a couple of weekends in St George, and camping in American Fork Canyon. We saw my family on the Sunday before Labor Day for a few hours. Shayna and Stacy had their baby girl,Vienna Paisly Eastman.
Donovan is doing a great job learning the cosmetology trade. I get to go do a girls night with Jaci once a week, and I finally got together with my girlfriends for dinner. We saw Jory and Staci 2 times this summer, they are busy too...We camped with Jaci and Callan, and went to a movie on another weekend with them.
We have worked and done kids stuff, karate, football, volleyball, home work, breakfast, lunch and dinner, some gym time, and some sleep! literally not a whole lot going on for us ...life is good....just steady and moving quickly....Here are a few photos of the events.

Timpanogos Hike

For the 24th of July weekend,We went camping up above Timpanookie camp ground in Bear Country....and Summitted Mount Timpanogos, AND slid on our butts down a mile long glacier!!! It was so much fun!!
The weekend before, we went camping in the same place, Jaci and Callan came up too! It was a great time! Sunday after we went out to Utah Lake on Jory and Staci's boat, What a fun time!!

Grampa Bob, Poppy Big Fish, Pa

My Grandpa Bob passed away on June 18th 2009. He had been batteling congestive heart disease for 3.5 years. He never made a single complaint! He was a wonderful example of greatness in his simple and loving ways. He taught all of us through his example to be loving, greatful, committed, accountable, and thoughtful of family. He spoke his mind with integrity, and always made sure we knew we were loved!
We has his service on monday the 22nd of June, in Fillmore. Many of us spoke, My brother, and his 2 boys, and my boy Jory along with an extra horse paid tribute to Gramps by giving him the "last ride" to his final resting place. He was transported in a glass carraige pulled behind a team of horses. It was beautiful! We love you Gramps!

Suprise , Suprise, Suprise!! Another month has passed right before my life!!...
It was a great month, full of work and fun...
We went to SanDiego for Donovans 43rd birthday, We went to Moab and Mesa Verde for Memorial Day weekend, It was Jaci's 21st birhtday, We were still catching up from the salon remodel and addition we did in April, We moved into our new spot, with more room, its own entrance and COOLER!! Yeah for me and my hot flashes!! We saw friends and went to Club Allure to see Kiss Thiss...We went to a bees game, it was Mothers Day, My nephew made it home from his mission and my sister moved to Texas, Jory and Staci got a new wake board boat....
hmmmm I am certain there was more...

Speaking of time flying by... my baby turns 21 tomorrow! Happy Birthday Jaci!! We are all going to dinner Friday night at The Oyster Bar, and then to The Canyon Inn to play pool and listen to the band...It will be her first visit to a Utah club..
Kaden, Donovans Baby, turned 8 on Apri 19th...We had a party and went swimming at The Legacy Center, and Lazer Tag...he had a great time!
We spent Easter weekend in Logandale, helping mom and dad out at The Texas Twister booth...It is a very busy show , with a great turn out regardless of rain or wind!
It is great!
The first weekend of April, Jory, Staci, Jaci and Callan joined us in St George for some hiking and pool time...we enjoyed all the laughs and good memories we made...
As I re-read my blog , I am laughing at how many time I say "great"....need a new phrase!! must be late and my brain is tired....LOL
We also went to The Brittney Spears concert....Jaci is most definitely her number one fan...Even when the chips were down for Brittney, Jaci believed in her, she always said " she will be back in concert, and I am going for sure when she does"
We made it a girls night out, and JoEll, Abby, Morgan, Me, Jaci, Nicki, Jordie, and Sadie, went to Happy Sumo then the concert...It was very entertaining...she is super talented!

Fire Fire Fire!!!!

This was my parents home.... Saturday March 21st someone set it on fire....It took 12 fire trucks from 3 neighboring towns to fight the blaze and keep it from consuming the main house. Thankfully, the main house which is just 10 feet away from the fire, had only cracked windows and melted blinds. It doesn't even smell of smoke! The CSI team confirmed it was arson and they are investigating leads. A BRIEF HISTORY: My parents bought this 150 year old home in Fillmore Utah, 10 years ago. My Dad had an instant love and interest in this old building behind the house...they called it "The Grainery". It was made of red pine from the mountains around Fillmore, and was put together without a single nail or screw. The pioneers had a method the used called mortise and tenon....The joints are formed to fit snug inside of each other. It had a cellar that they used to keep food storage items in. My parents gathered bricks from the school house in Scipio that my Dad attended as a young man, they placed them on the dirt floor, and formed a clean floor for storing things on. Dad had all of his tools, and Mom had all of her keepsakes in this grainery. Eventually they made a living space with a loft in the grainery, and built a nice covered deck on the front of it. Inside they placed all of their keepsake items, and made it very cozy~ they loved to bring friends and family into the yard and enjoy the hot tub and grainery. All of the Grandkids loved to sleep in the loft. We all enjoyed time around the fire infront of the grainery in the evenings. Our heart goes out to Mom and Dad, for this loss...It was a loss for all of us because all of our childhood memories , some of their memories, as well as our childrens memories in the way of photos, videos,geneology books and hand made articles were lost in the fire. It is a very surreal feeling to know that the largest part of your past, no longer exists...only in the memory. It is difficult to pass that on to future generations. The good news is that no lives were lost....

We had a great month!! Not that we went anywhere fabulous, but it was good!!
WE have been playing a game with Paige and Kaden we made up...called The Manners Game...
The name says it all, it is to encourage use of manners , which we forget to use at times.....
We use tokens, and we start the week out with an equal amount and if you have to be reminded to use your manners, then you lose a token to the one who had to remind you, at the end of the week, the one with the most tokens gets to pick from a list of activities (that all of us made together)and we do that activity as a family.
It has been a fun as well as useful for all of us!
We spent 2 weekends in St George, hiking and having fun in the outdoors ...we dont have any pictures due to leaving our nice camera at one of the locations we were taking pictures at....bummer.....but someone else must have needed it more than us....YA RIGHT!!!
We went to lunch and a movie with Jory, Jaci and Callan, Paige and Kaden...by default, we saw "Confessions of a Shopaholic...LOL...it was not the most favored movie the boys have ever seen ...
My Grandparents both turned 80 this month, and celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary..D and I went to Fillmore on the 23rd to celebrate with them.
Paige and Kaden started Horse riding lessons with Cindy Lewis in Edgemont, at the Roney barn...they are loving it! Paige started in a performing group called Up With Kids, and Kaden started Karate at Bushi Ban, both are enjoying the new routine...It is fun to see them grow and gain more confidence in themselves.

Sometimes....well ok... Most of the time I forget to blog and keep it all updated, so here are a few posts in a row to "catch up" they include lots of pics and a few words to describe at the end of the pics..
I would just like to say Happy New Year to all!! It is my wish and prayer that this year we all "stop and smell the roses" to use an old cliche'...but really I feel it is time to slow the "rat race " down , and remember what is most important to each one of us, and then give ourselves the opportunity to ENJOY what is most important to us..whatever that may be for you.
For the past 5 years or so, I have been making a concious effort to "live in the NOW"..it is challenging to do when "the thinking mind" takes over , and I begin to think of the past too much, and "relive" the past in my actions of today...(not healthy or productive) actually very counterproductive. OR...when I get so far out in the future that I am no longer "present" today. It is my intent to continue making a concious effort to stay in the present time, where the gifts and influence are. I once read they call it "present" time because that IS the "gift"...food for thought....... Be where you are so you don't miss your life!!

Christmas 2008

We had so much fun for Christmas this year, we were on the "go" for 2 weeks! We kicked it off by going to church...yes I said church...with The Eastman Family, who were all in Utah for many family events during the week of Christmas. We went to Jory and Stacis home for a Christmas with my kids on that same Sunday evening.
We had Eastman family photos and a bridal shower for Amanda and Mike on Monday.
Ashton was sealed to Andrew and Deidre on tues and we had family dinner and games with the Barbers on Tuesday. Wednesday was Christmas Eve, and some of the family went snowboarding, Deidre broke her right wrist at the end of the day. We all had dinner and fun together for Christmas Eve. Christmas Day ...well need I say more...Christmas Day is always filled with sensory overload LOL !! this year was no different, however, we did get snowed in up in the Draper house where everyone, except us had been staying all week. All roads were closed, 70 mph wind and snow blizzard blowing all over the state! We had a talent show , where some of the family members "did their stuff"...it was so cute!! We had stories, and a slide show of family events for the past couple of years, of course food food food, and CANDY!! there wasn't anything left out! Friday was a day to regroup, after digging ourselves out of the "neighborhood" some of the snow spots were deeper than my legs could reach to the bottom of!! Saturday was Mike and Amandas wedding, and of course all that goes along with that day! It was a beautiful wedding . Amanda made a beautiful bride, and I had the opportunity of doing her hair and makeup! She is gorgeous! but actually there isnt an "ugly" family member in the Eastman Clan! They ALL look like models!!! I am really greatul for the opportunity to get to know all of them, and be included in the festivities!

Thanksgiving 2008

So our Thanksgiving was in Fillmore and we did it "Redneck" style! My parents have a small home and a big yard, so each year we set up tents, with tables and heaters in them and eat outside... come rain snow or sunshine , we are there! for the new comer it is a little "strange" at first , but they soon catch on and find it entertaining to say the least! We have a great time in the country!! LOL...after dinner we played cards, went for a 4 wheeler ride in the canyon, and then out to the Hotpots to soak. The hotpots are in the Kanosh area and they are maintiained by some divers, and kept clean ...most important not smelly! We all have a great time, here are a few photos!

This year we had Thanksgiving in Fillmore with my parents and family...All of the kids were able to come so we took family pics! It seems like this is the year for pics, many of the people I know were focusing on the photo-ops this year....It is what is most important ...and when "times get tough" people tend to retreat to their families for strength and comfort.

Time passes so quick!! The year 2008 went by with such speed as I have never known.
The most important message I get from "time" moving so fast..is to slow time down by being present in every moment you live....enjoy the place you are in, enjoy the people you are with, and enjoy the activity you are doing......be ONE with your life,charish each moment, for when it is gone....it is gone forever......If you have been in "survival mode"....get off the merry-go-round......STOP yourself, and awaken to feeling your life...There will ALWAYS be something that "needs" to be done...do it with joy, enthusiasm, and acceptance....This is life, make it what you want it to be, choose well, this isn't dress rehearsal. Have a beautiful year in 2009, and love your life!!

So this year we got to have Paige and Kaden for Halloween! It’s the first time for us to be with them on Halloween! Paige was a "stitch witch" Kaden was a scary skeleton with a bloody, bony chest that pumped blood. They wore their costumes to school, and then we did the trunk or treat at the church, and dressed up the Hummer, and passed out candy to a bunch of people who had no idea who the new scary family was! Since we don’t go to church, they haven’t seen us before, so I got this funny vision in my head of all of us being the "strange family" like the Munsters or the Addams family...there were the Kids, Me, Donovan and Barb, all dressed scary, with this mysterious Hummer that was decorated "over the top" for this little function...we were a great photo op for a lot of people though... we had a great time and then went to Pizza Factory to eat, and then home to watch Sleepy Hollow....fun time!

Grandma Eastman

On October 31st , Grandma Eastman passed away. We were fortunate to have gone to Canada and see her in summer of 07. We took Paige and Kaden, and met other family members there to spend a few wonderful days at the Eastman Ranch, where Donovan spent many of his summers while growing up. It was my privledge for me to meet her for the first time, and I enjoyed the conversation and memories everyone was sharing about their life with Grandma Eastman. (It was said many times that Donovan was her favorite!) She lived a wonderful life, dedicted to her faith and her family. We will all miss her, she lives in our hearts forever. Thank you Grandma Eastman for being the inspiration you have been to all that meet you.

D and I got up early (for a sunday) and went on a walk up Provo canyon, then he made us breakfast at home, and we went on a ride out to the Salt Air Marina, to check out the sailing club...it is pretty run down place, and alot of the boats are rugged looking compaed to the sail boats in SanDiego...ha ha...afterward we watched the Bees baseball team lose to Colorado, but it didnt matter cuz the weather was perfect, and we enjoyed each others company.

Jory Staci and I went to Fillmore and met Caralynn, their photographer, to do their bridal photos. She is such a creative photographer. The pics are really fun!She took some at the race track, the movie theater in town a few old walls, lots of them kissing, and lots of Staci on her own, and some with jory looking at her from a small distance, just FUN!!!! I am so glad they asked me to go with them..
I will post soon!
We saw Granny and Pa, Terri and Braigon..and took a picture with them because they most likely wont make it to Wyoming for the wedding.

Well after a whole summer of not getting much time with my kids, we spent the day together Saturday. Staring with breakfast at One Man Band. We took the 4 wheelers up Poll Canyon in Santaquin, Jory led us on a great ride, Jaci shopped for the snacks to eat when we stopped. We caught up on a few things we have all been doing, had some good laughs. Later on we went to the movie Step Brothers.....it was a movie for the light hearted for certain..ha ha ...
We went back to Callan and Jacis and played phase 10 until midnight and slep over.
I love getting together with my family!
It was Callans birthday in the 7th of august, he is now 22!
Unfortunately no one took a camera!!

California

To top of our summer we continued south to Norther California. Our first stop was the Redwood Forest where we camped for a night....BEAUTIFUL! I am sure there are more adjectives I can use to describe this area.... majestic, ominous, ancient, enormous, I could go on, (but I wont) ha ha ...
The northern beaches are a wonder as well, I wonder why they have to be so damn cold!! I suppose beauty has its place no matter the climate...
We went to an Oakland A's game, on to SanFrancisco, then to Santa Cruz, Monterey area. Paige and Kaden will be living in that area now. It is also an attractive area, filled with pine trees, and beach.
We went to the Monterey Bay Acquarium and really enjoyed the wonders of the ocean through this fabulous arrangement of sea creatures etc.
We camped in northern Santa Cruz near the light house at a KOA called Castanoa. Honestly not my favorite KOA, usually they are quite equipped with things to do and great showers etc....like the Hyatt of camping. This was a bit more likened to being in the great out doors with all the stinky smells of sewer next to our camp, and no shade trees, one shower...may I repeat...one shower! But on a higher note, the beach was only a half mile walk and it was beautiful!

Oregon

We spent a great time in Oregon with the Eastman Family! I am so hppy we took the time to go this summer. They showed us some really good times.
We went on the Hells Gate Rogue River jet boat dinner. These boats only need 6 inches of water to go in. They hold over 60 people and they go up to 60 mph. We did 360's on the water, weaved back and forth , raced the other boats on the tour, and got 100% soaked! At least those of us on the front row! Everyone else gets 50% soaked....what a riot! We had a blast..and the dinner is all the yummy food you can eat at this beautiful large log cabin they built especially for the Hells Gate excursions.
We spent the next day at Gold Hill, at a true energy vortex....it was really something. They have a mystery house that slid off the hill side during some bad rains quite some time ago, and it landed in this vortex, it is totally crooked and they show some amazing demonstrations of energy insie of this house. Like a ball rolls up hill, water runs up hill, when inside we stood at a total slant, and it felt normal, but looked slanted to others. The batteries in our camera and Lee's phone were charging. Lee's cell phone continued to turn on, no matter how many times he shut it off, and it would say "battery charging".
We went to a reservoir with the family and boated in Stacy and Shayna's boat for half a day. Stacy is a great wake boarder. The kids rode the tube, well actually we all rode the tube, even Lee and Shary!
We went to church with the family, and then went to see Donovans Grandpa for a bit.
We played dominoes, ate food out doors, and had a talent show that was MC'd by Paige and Sarah on Sunday evening at Stacy and Shayna's.
There is so much to tell, we had a wonderful time and made some amazing memories!

Camping

We spent a weekend camping in Santaquin Canyon....just 2 days later they closed the canyon due to rabid bats!!! We saw a bat hanging around the river where we were camped. In the middle of the day it was sitting ona piece of wood in the shalow part of the river. Kaden was standing near it and spotted it first. Having been told of a rabid bat attack on a friend of Jaci's baby just a couple weeks before, we suspected it may be sick. Donovan taunted it with a stick, making it fly up and right toward me! Of course I took of running and squeeling, which made them all laugh. It was flying around in the open day light a couple of hours later, near where we were again....made me kind of nervous.
We had a great time camping and Jory , Staci, Jaci and Callan came up one night and made smores. We played Bacci ball, and relaxed.

This year for the 4th of July we were in St George and went to Mary and Bob Houstons clebration. We camped in our trailer, Joni and Aksel, Savanna, Kara, Kole, Braiden, Taylor, Byron and Vickie all came with us. Mary had food, drinks, a band, clowns, fire works, and BIG SLIDES....which we all had fun on!

Ok, so it has been a while since I BLOGGED, and I have so much to report!! I will have to back up a month or so.....
The last weekend of June we went to the annual ATV Jamboree in Fillmore, Ut..we stayed at Grama Di and Papa D's yard in our trailer, Bob amd Jody and the boys were there, Marci and the kids , Mom and Dad, Brandi and Lynn, and Us. Unfortunately my kids were doing other things that weekend...we really missed them!
We did everyhting from , ATV rides thru the beautiful mountains, to tire burn outs in town at the celebration, to car show,and mud bogs to hanging out in the yard and visiting, we even made our own dance saturday night, since they didnt have the usual dance at the legion hall they usually have.It was a really good time!

Summer Fun!

We have been having so much fun since Paige ans Kaden arrived! We went to Park city on the weekend of the 20th of June and stayed with Stace and Shayna and the kids and Michelle, Jaxon and Miley. We went to the Alpine slide, coaster and Zip line, after ward we all went swimming at the condo club house. Donovan and I went to dinner with Stace and Shayna, and let the kids hang out together at the condo for a couple of hours.
Sunday, we, the 4 of us, went to Lagoon. It has been years since we have been there, and they have added so many new rides....rollercoasters!!! We hit Wiked, and it was so much fun! it blasted us out of the terminal and we went straight up made a curve over the top and went straight down!! then it rolled into 4 cork screw turns and a few tight turns! what a blast!!! Paige and Kaden are my little rollercoaster buddies!! they love them, Donovan usually comes off saying ohhhhh....I dont know about that one!! The Spider went in circle while it goes fast up and down the roller hills, you sit back to back, side by side, and it spins you all directions while moving aling the track!! Donovan was so squished due to his size ...that he didnt return on that one with us...we went on the Collosus Fire Dragon 2 times in a row, the kids love that one too!
Last weekend we went to Fillmore for the ATV Jamboree, we stayed in Mom and Dads yard in our trailer along with everyone else. We went on rides up in the mountains. Our Fav is the one that goes thru the river, Paige and I splash really big, and went fast every time there was water,We loved it! Over all we rode the 4 wheelers over 80 miles!! We stopped along the trail and had snacks and potty breaks under the shade. It is so much fun, and each year it has become tradition to gather with friends and family to ride and have good times. This is a group of people that have been riding everything from motorcycles, snowmobiles, boats and 4 wheelers together since I was 8years old. It is always great to catch up on everbody!
We ate all of our meals in the yard, and everyone jumped in and helped cook.
The kids were all over the place, they had so many other kids to play with.
On Saturday, we went to the city park for the tire burn outs, and mud bogs....Donovan and I think we should start a business and call it Redneck Entertainment, we could organize this kind of fun in small towns across America!! We know there is a little redneck in all of us! LOL!
We are having a great summer!

I just want to say that I think Donovan is one of the cutest fathers I know. Ever since I have watched him parent, I have admired how cute and loving he is with his kids. Oh ya , he loses his cool at times..lol...what parent doesnt...but I love the way he takes full charge of getting them up and ready for the day, and bathed and fed and loved and tucked in bed at night. He gets on the internet with them during the school year to help them do homework, and he got cell phones for both of them so they can call him whenever they want to. Parenting can be a challenge, but most definitely rewarding! So any way Happy Fathers Day Donovan!

Fri June 13th the kids arrived for the summer! We are so excited to have them and we have planned a lot of fun events. Last sunday we went to Payson Lakes and went fishing and had a picnic with Bob and Jody and the boys! It was so relaxing, and nice in the mountains..,so dang happy it is finally warm!! the kids put poles in the water and ran around the lake with Jesse and Justin, and seemed to have a real nice time, I read The Host, and Donovan wandered and relaxed, Paige even caught him snoring once. Earlier in the day we met my family at IHOP for breakfast,Dad brought a homeless man named Joseph to breakfast, he had been watching over their Texas Twister booth in Springville during the night, and helped them a little when they were cleaning up, and just because my Dad is an awesome person that cares about others, he invited him to come eat with us!

Our grama colleen passed away today thurs may 8th at 2;30 am, she passed peacefully in her sleep, and by her own desire.By that I mean she "decided" she wanted out, she said Grampa was waiting for her. She missed Grampa so much! It has been 4 years since he passed on, I am quite certain that since she reached her loved ones that have passed on before her, she hasnt quit talking...LOL...she loves to visit! She was a remarkably strong woman, plowed fields, baled hay, work with the cattle, her home, and yard. She raised 4 sons, and Abby a grand daughter.I was with her for the first 2 years of my life, she made a huge influence on who I am today....you can especially tell by my independance...LOL....I learned it from her! She was nearly 82 years of age, and she really disliked thinking she was that "old". She definitely wasnt one to sit around and be waited on...no she was the one working all the time, and thinking about what she would do after she finished her current project. Hanging out and watcing her cook was a favorite of mine, she made it look so fun, and she always cleaned up the kitchen as she prepared the food, she never "rushed" through any thing, but instead, used a mythodical way of accomplishing.
She loved the place where she was born ,and raised and lived all of her life, Scipio Utah. To her, there was not a better place in the world,She was alwys so proud of her town, She traveled to other places , but not for long, she alwys felt the need to get back and take care of the cows. Cows are like her children, she knew each one in the herd, no matter how many she had. She always loved having family come visit, she was a wonderful hostess. I couldnt stay awake when I would go visit and sit in the back room, it was like sleeping pills, just so relaxing, and peaceful. I could go on and on, we will all miss her so much, we have her in our hearts forever! We love you Grama Colleen....

I want to wish my baby a happy 20th birthday! no more teenage years....crazy how fast it flies by! before we know it she will be saying the same thing about her baby! We had a great time at the Cheesecake factory last friday night, Neil, Joelle, Braxton ,Mistery, Grama Barbara, Grampa Farrell, Jory, Staci, Callan, Morgan, Donovan and I were all there. Great turn out!

After dinner a few of us went to Pulse Management to chat with Stacy for a minute, then we went to see Baby Mama....cute show...wouldnt see it twice, but it was good....

Jaci worked with her Dad, and hung out with him on a visit to see Grama Colleen and went to dinner with Callan on her actual birthday...Cheers to a happy 20th year sweetie!! I love you!

Last day in New York

Today was a rainy day, and so we saw something we rarely , if ever, see in Utah, ...people out walking in the rain with umbrellas!! I know that sounds so simple...but it was so fun!!! We walked to the Javitz Center for the 2nd day of hair show , in the rain...this time we wore coats....much smarter than yesterday....LOL... At the show , we saw the rest of the exhibits, and chatted with people about various products , from extensions, to springless irons, cordless irons, new dryers that hang from the ceiling, to salon software, Whew! soooo much stuff!!
We left the show around 3 pm and went to Soho by subway, and began walking, in and out of streets, looking for something cool for me to buy...I wasnt having any luck, and soon we were all the way down to World Trade Center location, so we began our treck back through Tribecca, which I did find some cute clothes to purchase, some Missme Jeans, T's and a couple of retro 80's outfits. Then onto Little Italy, China Town, Soho, Noho, and landed in our favorite spot, Greenwhich Village. We wove in and out of streets, until we found the familiar area we had been in on Saturday. We ate at a fun and crazy place called Jeckyal and Hyde, Donovan was a bit skeptical at first because it has spooky stuff all over the place, skeletons, werewolfs, gargoyles, and the bathrooms are in a hidden doorway hall, but the food was excellent! best I have had (PERSONALLY) since we came to NYC. After eating, BTW we have been walking since 3 pm and at the time of eating it is 9;30, we have been walking for 6.5 hours not including walking to the show and all around it.....there arent many fat people here, I know why!!!! so after eating we walked to the subway, and came back to midtown where we are staying....we are totally worn out, mosty soaked, and ready for a hot bath and bed! What a fun day playing in the rain, and walking all over downtown.
I really want to bring Jory and Staci and Jaci and Callan here next year, we will wait to bring Paige and Kaden when they are older, and would enjoy it so much more.
New York has been a blast, and we have done so much that it seems like we have been here for a couple of weeks, not just 4 days!

New York International Hair Show

So today was day one of the "Big Hair Show" We attended every class and booth on Hair Extensions, and happy to say..they may be a jump ahead of us, but we will be presenting a better product all the way around with Vanity Hair Extensions!..Some of the classes were very unprepared to teach , which was suprising to us since they are the best looking company when it comes to marketing ....they looked "great" on the main show floor, but they babbled for 50 minutes before they actually started teaching.....and the class was only 90 minutes...
We located hair extension companies that we didnt know existed....there are alot of new companies emerging, most of them offer two of the newest methods, keratin bonds and micro links. Alot of the hair seems to be quality as far as one can tell with out it being in the hair, and washed and styled etc.
Bohyme has a new product, its it called Reprieve, its a fully integrated hair extension for the top of the head. I have a large number of clients that are in need of top hair, so I am thinking of going o Chicago in May and becoming cerified by them to offer these pieces to clients. Plus I could plan to see the White Sox, and the Cubs Stadiums!
Enough business chat for one night!
All in all it is a great show, and We are looking forward to returning tomorrow for more, since we only made it through half of the exhibitors!!

NEW YORK CITY

Ok...so we arrived in New York at 5:45 am on Friday.....not much sleep on the plane...put our bags with the concierge at the Windham Wingate, freshened up and hit the subway to Central Park..we started at 59th and walked the WHOLE Park, including the Museum of Natural History, and back to the subway at 59th!!! we walked for 8 entire hours! We had a blast and took a bunch of pics that we will post when we get home...After we were able to check into our room, we both "crashed" for a very needed 2 hour nap.
We freshened up then headed off to the subway again to find our way to Shae Stadium for the Mets game. Before we left the hotel , we asked the front desk girls how to get where we were going, and after doing their best to explain, and print off a google map, they say" have fun and try not to look so touristy".....since we were going to Queens, I told Donovan I think that means "dont look so white".....we laughed and headed out on another adventure!
I have a hobby of visiting all of the major league ball parks in the country, and collecting the team jersey and hat of the home team, so after I got the goods we headed to the hot dog stand, (We were starving!!! ) then to our seats right behind home plate!
It was a fun game, even though the Mets lost to the Atlanta Braves. At the top of the 8th, the Mets were behind by 6, and we were both feeling quite tired, so we left the stadium, and retraced our steps back to our Manhatten hotel, and climbed into a very welcome bed!
Saturday AM:
Well maybe it was more like noon, we left the hotel and did some shopping around 34th and Fashion Avenue, after fighting our way through tons of people, we couldnt really find anyhting to buy so we decided to head to SOHO.
Back to the subway, but ended up in Greenwich instead, we found much better shopping, and a really great place to eat, it is our hope to get more time there before we leave.
Tonight we got all dressed up and saw Wicked! We enjoyed the play so much, loved the story, but I felt I would have liked the music to be a bit more upbeat! slow, soft songs tend to make me dose...LOL, and I caught D doing the same thing!! However the creator of this story was genious! loved the new twist on the "Wicked Witch of the West"...If you have the opportunity to see it ...GO!!!
After the play, we took a ride back to our hotel on a bike and buggy thing....I Loved it!

Jaci and I are planning Stacis shower, and the day we picked is Sunday July 13th, its going to be a Pantry /Cleaning Supplies/ Medicine Cabinet shower....different huh?? well they have everything cuz they have been living together for 31/2 years so they are mostly set up, but everyone can always use the basics, right?? wish us luck at making it fun and getting lots of our family and friends to show up!

Weekend in St. George

This is my first blog, so here I go...LOL
We are so ready for the cold weather to end! We had been invited to go on a camping trip this weekend, but the news reported bad weater so we blasted off to St George where the weather was 80 degrees and pure blue skies! We enjoyed going for a walk out in "little Valley", we discovered a place where they fly radio controlled airplanes! It was so cool! We saw a couple of movies at night, during the day we just "hung out" at our house and puttered around the yard and the inside of the house.
We love to be together and be silly, or cook together, or whatever may come about.
But its back to Pleasant Grove tomorrow, it is supposed to be snowing sunday and monday of this week.....bummer......will spring EVER come?
